[Post Game Thread] The Los Angeles Lakers (17-6) defeat the Denver Nuggets (12-9), 114-93.

Lakers have the best defense in the league and it really covers poor shooting nights. The coaching staff makes frequent adjustments and I love watching it.
[–]Raptors imsahoamtiskaw 102
They controlled that 3rd and 4th entirely. You could feel them begin to suffocate the Denver offense and kill whatever little life was left in it by the end of the 4th
It appears the Laker can in fact flip a switch.

Shades of the 2000-2001 team
[–]Lakers dash2k8 6
Ngl, I was hating it when the Lakers were down 12 at the half. Absolutely did not see a 33-point swing.
Great all around game from the champs. The second half defense was suffocating. Malone was sweating in the forth quarter.
It’s our biggest strength. We can fall back onto our defense when buckets aren’t happening until someone sparks up.
[–]lebron_games 321 指標 6小時前
Vogel has always been a great defensive coach. Those Pacers teams were so elite on D they had Lebron practicing floaters lol
[–]Lakers rdalts32 63
Vogel’s defensive schemes are insane. We’ve had some of the most insane defensive stretches I’ve ever seen this past year and a half with him as our coach.
[–]Lakers krosber04 37
AC and Schroeder's (and THTs) speed to help out and funnel people to AD and bron is just so fun.
[–]Lakers jelloisjigglin 36
I really like the defense with THT and Caruso rather than the Morris and Matthews lineups at the beginning of the year.
[–]jio_tenchuu 29 指標 5小時前
The Lakers defense reminds me of the Heatles. Not the scheme, but the intensity and energy. They just f@cking swarm you, man. You start feeling sorry for the opposing team.
Kyle Kuzma had as many blocks as the entire nuggets team
[–]Lakers abowmanlex 248
He’s been a great rebounding defensive player this season. Deserving of his extension so far.
He's really taking pride in his defense this season, he's rebounding great.. He's become such a valuable player
It seems like his rebounding its entirely all off energy too. Seems like he's really taking pride in rebounding both offensively and defensively.
[–]jio_tenchuu 14 指標 5小時前
Kyle Kuzma is the perfect example of: You don't have to play well if you play hard. Running back on defense, playing with intensity, going after loose balls, making the right cuts, taking charges. That shit is infectious.
[–]Lakers jelloisjigglin 31
Shooting so much better from three as well.
I've loved watching him this year.
[–]Lakers abowmanlex 14
His spot up 3’s have been good! It seems like Vogel is telling the guys to practice 3’s rn in games.
[–]Lakers Jayveesac[S] 128
Kuzma really played well in his role tonight – cut to the basket, rebound the basketball, play good defense, and drain the open threes he'll get from kick-outs
A couple more games like this and people may stop tossing him into trade talks
[–]Lakers Apollo611 20
Kuzma has become such a great role player. I’m glad he finally took on that role.
I really feel kuz is at his best if he plays like Klay.
[–]Lakers MMDroxy 406
Just a friendly reminder that LeBron James is still the best player on the planet
Just a friendly reminder he may in fact be from another planet…

27-10-10, like 6th prime.
This man just built different
1st prime: rookie year to first finals
2nd prime: Heatles
3rd prime: Cavs pt. 2
4th prime: LeAssist
5th prime: LeThree
6th prime (age 40): LeHakeem
[–]Rockets Bandwagon CheekyFifaCunt_7 328
LeBron had some unreal passes
This was an insane LeMagic performance.
[–][OKC] Russell Westbrook NobodyRules 62
It seems effortless. He can score at will whenever he needs to but it's so pleasing to see him running an offense and getting everyone involved. It's just not that his playmaking ability is absurd but his creativity with the passes is so fun.

Embiid. LeBron still the best player but Embiid playing the best basketball this season so far.
[–][CLE] LeBron James Original26 30
It's a conversation for sure. Just don't agree with people writing LeBron off cause this MVP race might be closer than people think.
[–]Lakers cjsrhkcjs 82
tbf if they just gave the MVP to the best player, LBJ would have like 16 MVPs and it would get pretty boring lol
They honestly should though.
[–]Lakers motorboat_mcgee 38 指標 6小時前
The Nuggets looked unstoppable in the first half, and then they looked like scared children in the second half after the Lakers made some adjustments. I don’t really understand it.
Also, I love THT and really hope we keep him around.
[–][NBA] Hakeem Olajuwon johnfcknallen 123
Come aboard the THT train!
[–]Lakers LeBronathanJameson 51
A THT contested reverse layup > LeBron FT
Lol I’ve gotten to the point where I expect it to go in like a Curry contested 3
[–]NBA EarthWarping 35
Interesting to see if THT gets playoff minutes
[–][LAL] LeBron James SoundtrackToChaos 49
No way he doesn't at this rate, 9 man rotation and it's either him or Matthews and Matthews has been god awful this season. It's THT's job to lose now.
THT is legitimately good, and is worthy of playoff minutes. He provides not only a spark but his game is maturing; he doesn't take shots he shouldn't, has a feel for the game when running the P&R, makes good passes and is a solid defender.
46 is one of Lakers' favorite numbers (along with 27). My man Clarkson is also a 46th overall pick last 2014 draft, coincidentally.
Also, the Lakers are really good at making gems out of late draft picks and undrafted players.
THT – 46th pick, 2019 draft
Kuzma – 27th pick, 2017 draft
Caruso – undrafted, 2016 class
Don't forget Schroder and Trezz. Best game from the supporting cast all year
edit: Man what a box score. 7 guys in double digits. Masterclass in team win, especially with AD not scoring as much.
[–]Lakers MiopTop 28
Who would have thought a Trez-at-center lineup would destroy the Nuggets ?
[–]Lakers BayStyles 102
yo what a great game defensively from Trez. 1 on 1 against bigger players, pick and roll, switching, weakside help. did a little bit of everything
[–]Lakers Izrezar 49
He definitely took the comments about his playoff defense against Jokic personally
[–][TOR] Tracy McGrady TeBenny 46
Trezz was actually guarding Jokic decently whenever he got switched on him
[–]Lakers RickySuela 28
It's because Trez is actually a decent perimeter defender (very underrated there, considering his reputation is that he's just plain awful, period). Trez is still not great at post defense because he's still just 6'7, but he's pretty good at keeping guys in front of him outside and using his long arms to get a hand up.
On the Clippers though, when he was in there he was pretty much their only interior defense (cause they never played him and Zubac together cause neither could shoot 3s), so Trez was forced into playing into his biggest weakness. On the Lakers though, they can put Trez out there on Jokic on the perimeter, and if Jokic wants to take him down low they can double team him with Kuzma or have AD meet him at the rim.
[–][LAL] Kobe Bryant PM-ME-YOUR-FoUrSKIN 72
this was a all around elite game. Shröder on defense and offense hitting shots, AD was everywhere, Lebron just slicing the defense.
This team is just built different
AD was everywhere except offense lol
[–]Lakers zuuu34 37
some runs we did in 3rd quarter was because of him on defense. Totally shutting down 3 possession by himself
[–]Lakers Oddsss 20
I mean they doubled him almost every time he got the ball. Their game plan was to not let Davis beat them, but the Lakers are too deep.
[–][LAL] LeBron James SoundtrackToChaos 11
Boy am I glad I don't have to watch Westley Matthews try and play ball anymore. This 9 man rotation is so much better than our 11 man rotation.
[–]Minneapolis Lakers Pardonme23 12
he'll be back
[–]Nuggets shmeekloff 298
How tf do you get blown out after a 12 pt half-time lead? Smdh

Once the Lakers decided cut off Denver's offensive rebounding, the game turned on its head in their favor
[–][DAL] Wang Zhizhi suzukigun4life 243
Nugget got outscored 46-18 over the final 16 minutes.
They shot 8/30 from the floor, 3/14 from 3 and had 9 turnover in that span
Denver should really get on the phone and see what the Rockets want for Tucker. They need more toughness and D
Lakers would still have the better Tucker /s
[–][LAL] LeBron James SoundtrackToChaos 66
Tucker would be a great get for them. I have no clue what the hell Milslap is supposed to be doing for them but he hasn't done it against us when we've played.
[–]Lakers SmokeOddessey 72
We gave them some open shots midway through the 4th that had me thinking they were gonna be able to come back, but Millsap pulled through and missed them all.
[–]Naekyr 63
Lakers are generally coasting this season
They are going to be scary when the playoffs come and they flip that switch – I actually wonder if keeping AD on ice most of the time is a tactic, come playoffs they wannt him to put up 20 shots a game and teams haven't had any practice against the plays
[–][LAL] LeBron James xyneid 46
Eh, AD should get the reps to be able to hit 20 shots efficiently come playoffs. These coping mechanisms don't help. AD is not having a great season. He's not coasting or being hidden. He's straight up not good offensively.
22 points per game on 58% true shooting isn’t “not good offensively”
